FREE WEBINAR: Reinforcement of rubber by active fillers
In this webinar, Dr. Jens Kiesewetter, European Head of Applied Technology for Tire & Rubber of Evonik Operations GmbH, will give a basic training about the reinforcement of rubber by active fillers.
Contents of the Webinar:
- First of all, the amplification (reinforcement) effect is illustrated by a tensile test.
- Demonstration by means of a clear size comparison between filled material and a spaghetti plate on which size scales the amplification of force and elongation takes place at the molecular level.
- The measurement of the reinforcement effect based on the morphology of the filler, the sizes of the SSA and DOA are presented.
- Explanation why the silica system, in contrast to the CB system, requires an adhesion promoter in order to leverage the full potential of this modern filler.
- The success of the Silica/Silane system as the modern filler system in passenger car tires is explained.
- The advantages of the Silica/Silane system can of course also be used in all other rubber components, esp. in coloured MRG products or shoe soles.
- The gained knowledge is extended to the reinforcement of silicone rubbers.
